NEW MOON IN LIBRA✨🌙♎💎
10 OCTOBER 2026
“A Karmic Reckoning”
This is not an ordinary New Moon in Libra, opening a new cycle in the sign of partnership, balance, beauty, and justice.
Venus rules this New Moon, but she is retrograde in Scorpio, transforming what might normally be a moment of new beginnings into a much deeper process of reassessment.
Before we move forward and begin writing new stories, we are called to look back, to honestly examine what we have chosen, desired, and accepted, and ask ourselves whether these things still belong in the life we are trying to create.
The New Moon, forming at 17°21′ Libra on October 10 at 18:49 time for Greece directly affecting those with planets or significant points between 15° and 20° of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn), arrives at a moment when we are being asked to revisit past choices, renegotiate what we have consented to, and reconsider the way we relate.
Before planting a new seed, we reflect on whether our relationships, partnerships, alliances, and the important agreements in our lives truly support us, meet our needs, and, above all, deserve the energy, trust, and investment we give them.
This becomes even more significant because Libra is undergoing a profound redefinition this year, as the outer planets continue to reprogram the sign, bringing new awareness, new experiences, and new possibilities.
It is not only the way we relate to one another that is changing. Gradually, our very understanding of relationship, cooperation, and coexistence is changing with it.
With Venus descending into the Plutonian depths of Scorpio, we are called to look beneath the surface.
Venus makes a symbolic descent into the Underworld, where she encounters our passions, fears, guilt, attachments, losses, and need for control, but also something deeper: our forgotten sense of self-worth.
What do we truly feel? What are we afraid to lose? What have we become attached to?
Where have we become dependent? What has been the cost of our desires? What do we truly need?
Where are we holding on to a person, a relationship, a situation, or an old version of ourselves, because we are afraid of the emptiness its absence would leave behind?
This New Moon asks us to place truth above our need for harmony and connection.
If we have avoided conflict to preserve peace, abandoned ourselves in the name of compromise, mistaken the fear of loss for love, or attachment for commitment, Venus will reveal the difference.
With Mercury also moving through Scorpio, this is a time for honest conversations and for going to the root of our feelings, fears, and wounds to discover what has remained hidden until now.
Our thinking becomes more penetrating and is no longer satisfied with what lies on the surface. A conversation, a piece of information, or a sudden realization may expose a deeper truth and allow us to see a situation with greater clarity and awareness.
Adding further tension is the exact square between Venus and Mars in Leo, creating friction between our desires and those of others, but also within ourselves.
We may long for harmony and security while, deep within us, we are searching for passion.
We may want to assert ourselves, create, and shine, while a relationship or a part of ourselves is asking for depth, exclusivity, and emotional security.
We may long to leave and create something new, while still fearing the loss that comes with it.
And as if this were not enough, Venus is also moving toward a square with Pluto, which peaks on October 20 and may expose what is broken and can no longer stay with us.
This influence can bring hidden relationship dynamics to the surface: dependencies, manipulation, betrayal, power imbalances, losses, and consuming passions.
Yet this is precisely where a personal crisis can become an initiation.
It can lead us to recognize where we have surrendered our power to a person, a relationship, a desire, or a situation and begin the process of taking that power back.
On a collective level, the T-square involving Venus at the apex, Mars, and Pluto may reveal who truly holds the power, who pays the price, and which mechanisms continue to serve an outdated system of values.
What is now being exposed may open the way for the redefinition and transformation of relationships, alliances, agreements, institutions, and even legislation that no longer reflect the new values taking shape.
Within all these, there is also a path leading back toward the light.
The sextile between the New Moon and Jupiter in Leo is profoundly supportive. This alignment gives us reasons to be generous, expansive, creative, and optimistic. It opens the door to opportunities and may help us rediscover faith in ourselves, return to our hearts, and begin creating from the inner knowing that we are worthy.
And perhaps this is the deeper counterbalance to everything retrograde Venus is revealing. We no longer need to hold on to something to feel worthy.
As the Luminaries move away from their opposition to Saturn in Aries, this new beginning also appears to pass through a test of maturity. We are called to take responsibility for our choices and recognize the boundaries that are necessary. Saturn in Aries reminds us that we can be autonomous and, from that place of inner sovereignty, consciously choose whom we want to walk alongside and how.
The sesquiquadrate between the New Moon and retrograde Uranus in Gemini, however, adds unpredictability. Something may catch us off guard, a piece of information, a realization, a conversation, a change in attitude, or a message that asks us to see a situation from an entirely different perspective and change our approach. And as Uranus is retrograde, the disruption may begin within us first.
At the same time, Mars participates in the highly creative Talent Triangle formed by Uranus, Saturn, and Neptune, giving us the impulse to turn inspiration into action, dare to express ourselves differently, and make use of talents and possibilities that may have been waiting to emerge.
As Mars separates from its opposition to Pluto in Aquarius, energy that may previously have been expressed through conflict, competition, or power struggles can now be redirected toward something more creative and meaningful.
Perhaps this is one of the greatest gifts of this cycle. To reclaim our power not through conflict, but through creation.
The asteroid Demeter (Ceres), squaring the New Moon, adds yet another profound dimension.
Ceres is the archetype of the mother who gives life, nourishes, and protects, but also of the mother who knows the pain of loss. When Persephone descends into the Underworld, Demeter is confronted with something she cannot control. Her daughter cannot remain with her forever, but she can return within the eternal cycle of the seasons.
The presence of Ceres reminds us that there are moments when we cannot hold on to a person, a relationship, or a situation as it once was. And then we must accept transformation and discover a new form of connection.
Because when we truly love something, we may have to allow it to follow its own path, even when that means we must continue differently.
The Sabian Symbol of this New Moon, “Two Men Arrested,” speaks of accountability and the administration of justice.
The symbol confronts us with the consequences of our choices and with the need to stand before the truth of our actions.
We are at a point where we must take responsibility, acknowledge our mistakes, repent, and answer to our own conscience.
The New Moon in Libra appears to come to reveal the truth we have been avoiding before we can embrace a new perspective and make a new beginning from an entirely different point of departure.
And perhaps the most important question is not what we will keep and we will let go of, but what within us can no longer continue to love the same way?
As Venus descends into the Underworld, we may need to leave behind not only people or relationships, but also old versions of ourselves that learned to compromise, fear loss, seek approval, or exchange love for security.
Because a new beginning does not always arrive when we open a new door. Sometimes it arrives when we finally dare to close the one holding us back.✨
May this New Moon be blessed, illuminating, and transformative for all!✨🌙🎇💎🕊☮
With love💓💓💓
