TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE NEW MOON IN LEO✨🎇🌑🌙♌
12 AUGUST 2026
‘’The Crown Is No Longer the Goal’’
Not all eclipses are the same. Some bring cycles to completion, others open new paths, while some seem to suspend time just before a profound change.
The Total Solar Eclipse and New Moon at 20°01’ Leo, on 12 August 2026 at 20:36 Greece time, does not simply arrive to open a new cycle. It comes to confront us with the very meaning of creation, leadership, and personal identity, and with our need to be recognised through what we create and radiate into the world.
The archetype of Leo longs to express, to love, to create, to leave its own imprint. Yet a Solar Eclipse here does not come to take away our light. It comes to remove whatever has accumulated around it and is no longer necessary.
Perhaps some lights have been left on for too long. The images we created of ourselves, the roles that once gave us power, the need for recognition, and whatever once made us feel alive may, over time, have become a stage from which we no longer know how to step away.
And perhaps this is the true work of the Eclipse: to stop playing a role that no longer belongs to us.
The fact that this is the first eclipse of the new Aquarius–Leo Lunar Node cycle, conjunct the South Node, suggests that before we create something new, we must close chapters that have already served their purpose.
This is an eclipse of clearing and release. Over the next six to eighteen months, it may bring us face to face with everything that was once necessary for our survival and evolution, but can no longer accompany us on the next leg of our journey.
Old stories, identities, ambitions, relationships, forms of power and creative ventures that once expressed who we were may return, asking us whether they still have a place in our lives and whether it is time for a new beginning.
This Eclipse may also function as the epilogue to a story that began in August 2017, when we experienced another eclipse in Leo, this time on the North Node.
Back then, a new dream may have been born: a creative direction, an ambition, a love, a personal project, or even a new image of ourselves, and nine years later, we are being called to ask whether it still carries meaning.
The South Node in Leo may dismantle outdated forms of creation and power, along with the need to prove our worth through others’ applause.
It can bring old chapters and karmic cycles to a close, gradually aligning the particular area of our lives with a truer version of ourselves, removing roles, titles and masks that once concealed deeper inner voids.
According to Bernadette Brady, this particular South Saros Series 10 is associated with liberation from a difficult or deadlocked situation. A solution may appear suddenly, but the opportunity may not remain open forever. The Eclipse opens the door, but it asks us to walk through it without hesitation.
Of particular significance is the harmonious trine between the Lights and retrograde Saturn in Aries, which is also their only major aspect.
Experience, wisdom and patience become our allies, helping us recognize which boundaries, fears and old patterns have held us back, so that we can make the necessary corrections.
This energy invites us to take responsibility for what we wish to create and give it form, structure and lasting power.
Since July, the renowned Barbault Basket, one of the most significant planetary configurations, has been depicting a profound process of collective transition.
While in previous weeks Jupiter, the Sun and the Moon successively activated the configuration, at this Eclipse the baton is passed to Mercury, which is also involved in a Kite formation.
Mercury in the early degrees of Leo forms a sextile with Uranus in Gemini, awakening and reprogramming the mind.
An idea, piece of information, encounter, proposal or conversation may offer us a new understanding and alter the course of events. Innovative solutions may emerge precisely where, until yesterday, there seemed to be no way forward.
Mercury’s trine to Neptune in Aries makes intuition equally important, opening a channel between the conscious and unconscious while bringing empathy and inspiration.
Yet Mercury’s opposition to Pluto in Aquarius may also bring difficult news, revelations and intense ideological confrontations.
However, this influence allows us to see reality through a new lens and understand more deeply what is happening beneath the surface.
It is time to release prejudices and ways of thinking rooted in fear, and to stop reproducing narratives that may once have protected us but now keep us small.
Venus is also particularly important in this Eclipse, influencing the way we make use of the opportunities and changes unfolding around us.
Venus is in the early degrees of Libra, powerful in the sign of her rulership and expressing her higher qualities: balance, cooperation, beauty, diplomacy and partnership.
She participates in a Kite formation with Pluto, Uranus and Neptune, while connecting with the Barbault Basket through her sextile to Mercury. Her energy can therefore be channelled in exceptionally creative ways.
Venus’ trine to Pluto allows relationships, financial circumstances, values and partnerships to transform and become empowered. This is not a superficial renewal, but a rebirth of whatever possesses substance, depth and authenticity.
Her trine to Uranus brings new possibilities, surprises and innovation. It may introduce new relationships and partnerships, renew the way we connect and invest, and inspire new business models and forms of creativity that are more collective, interactive or technological.
At the same time, Venus’ opposition to Neptune asks us to move beyond doubts and idealization and recognize whether what we desire is truly our own need or a projection, expectation or image we have created.
Venus reminds us that evolution lies in connection, cooperation and reconciliation. Success will depend on our ability to bring people, ideas, new knowledge and talents together around a shared vision, while remaining open to what is new.
Her sextile to Mercury brings the mind and heart together, facilitating communication, diplomacy and social connections, while allowing opportunities and desires to become sources of inspiration.
A new way of being, creating and radiating into the world is born after this Eclipse.
With Mars at 0° Cancer, we will fight for what we love, for security, roots, family, loved ones and our sense of belonging. Meanwhile, its sextile to Chiron in Taurus can be deeply healing, offering an opportunity to transform our relationship with ourselves and heal wounds surrounding worth, security and self-esteem.
Mars’ trine to the North Node also allows us to move beyond old emotional patterns and toward the future or greater collective vision.
The Eclipse will have a stronger impact on those with personal planets or angles between 17° and 23° of the Fixed signs: Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio.
It will carry particular significance for the regions from which it will be visible as a total eclipse: Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, the North Atlantic, Spain and a small part of northwestern Portugal.
It will be partially visible across parts of Canada, the United States, Europe and northwestern Africa.
On the collective level, the Eclipse may touch on issues of power, leadership and public image, bringing politicians, influential figures, celebrities and royal families into the spotlight, as well as the entertainment, leisure and social media industries. Leo is also associated with gold and leisure spaces, so developments in these areas cannot be ruled out.
The Sabian Symbol for the degree of the Eclipse, “Drunken Chickens,” describes a stage in which we are disoriented, vulnerable and without a clear sense of direction.
It speaks of moments when we lose our ability to discern and find ourselves being carried by forces we do not yet understand, when old certainties no longer protect us and familiar ways of perceiving the world begin to collapse.
Perhaps this is because the world is now changing faster than we can adapt.
New social and economic realities, rapid technological evolution and artificial intelligence are redefining work and life, creating the feeling that we are standing on ground that is constantly shifting beneath our feet.
Yet this disorientation may also be a transitional stage, the space in which an old perception dissolves before consciousness can move to a new level and approach reality differently.
And perhaps this is the deeper message of this Solar Eclipse.
A new way of perceiving the world, life, success and our own power.
Not this time as a privilege, but as a responsibility.
Not as personal radiance, but as a spark capable of igniting thousands.
Because true greatness doesn’t always need a stage, applause, or a crown.
It simply asks us to know our own light and to choose what we will illuminate with it.🎇
May this New Moon Solar Eclipse be blessed for us all! ✨🎇🌑🌙🕊☮
With love💓💓💓
