The heavens are opening, ushering in a new beginning, one you may not yet fully sense.
This is the second New Moon within 30 days in the sign of Virgo, a powerful threshold, amplified by its nature as a Solar Eclipse.
Eclipses, since the dawn of creation, have marked moments of profound change, turning points in our lives where control slips from our hands. They arrive with revelations and unfoldings that cannot be denied nor reshaped, yet they always serve the higher good, becoming Gateways to our deepest transformation.
This Solar Eclipse, the final one of the year in Virgo, is not simply a shadow veiling the Light, but an initiation, another rite of passage, calling us to return altered, renewed, and reborn.
The New Moon at 29°05′ Virgo, on September 21 at 21:54 (local time in Greece), as a Partial Solar Eclipse, carries a weight and a purpose entirely different from the Moon that came before it.
The New Moon of August, formed at 0° Virgo in a square to Uranus, was about seeding new beginnings, revolutionary change, and the need for redefinition and refinement in this area of life.
But this September eclipse at the final anaretic degree of Virgo is of a different order. This is a degree of completion, of ripeness, of endings. It asks us to release what has served its purpose, and tests our integrity and our intentions before a new cycle.
This lunation with the strong scent of destiny, calls us to re-evaluate the daily rituals, habits and patterns we maintain out of programming or insecurity. It brings crises and lessons to reveal what no longer works, what no longer belongs on the path of our evolution, so that we may change it and release it, from a higher level of Consciousness and Ιllumination.
It is worth remembering that this eclipse echoes one that unfolded in this very area of life 19 years ago, entwined also with those that marked the years 2006–2007, weaving once more the spiral threads of themes our souls have already encountered on their timeless journey. Yet now, we are called to meet them anew, through the lens of the wisdom we have gathered and the experiences that have shaped us along the way.
In Virgo, the focus is on health, work, and our daily craft. This is a moment when mistakes, flaws, and omissions may surface, guiding us to make different choices that ensure a better quality of life and the existential peace we long for.
On the collective level, and since this eclipse occurs only hours before the Autumn Equinox, it sets the tone for the coming quarter. It signals a crisis that shows us where balance and equality are needed, not merely efficiency. We may see a pressing need for revision and reform in structures of service, healthcare, labor, and administration. Virgo also rules pharmaceuticals and environmental stewardship,domains that may reveal mismanagement over the next six months, demanding reorganization and new ways of functioning.
This eclipse belongs to the Saros 9 New South, associated with events that feel destined, “meant” to surface. It often brings anxieties related to loved ones, medical issues, bureaucratic or legal matters requiring resolution and correction.
On a personal level, this is a sacred threshold. The time to discern what truly deserves to be carried into the future, and what must be laid down with gratitude. Revelations may arise that cannot be ignored—particularly for those with sensitive natal points in the late degrees of the Mutable signs (Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini) or the early degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn).
The healing portal opening now in Virgo is powerful. It offers liberation from the shadow side of Virgo, self-criticism, perfectionism, inadequacy, compulsive control, and the chance to embody Virgo’s higher gifts of discernment, purity, and clarity. By setting a strong intention for this new lunar cycle and re-writing the inner dialogue, we begin a transformation whose results may unfold until 2027, when this eclipse family completes.
At the moment of the eclipse, Saturn, the Lord of Karma, stands retrograde in Pisces at the final degree, opposing the Moon, reminding us that nothing escapes destiny. Saturn confronts us with the past, measures the integrity of our choices and delivers consequences, according to what has been sown. Conditions here are fluid, chaotic, precarious, and often fated. Old burdens or unfulfilled duties may resurface for completion. And something may need to be sacrificed for something else to come alive.
This is a time of karmic closure, an assessment of integrity, a call to accept limitations or even loss, in order to move forward.
The Lights also oppose retrograde Neptune in Aries, revealing false expectations, deceptive roles, and illusions collapsing under reality’s weight. Yet this very tension forms the spine of a Kite configuration, with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius trining the Lights. This protective pattern lifts us beyond confusion, supporting breakthroughs, revelations, new roles, relationships, and profound collective transformation.
Another defining feature is the emerging square of Mars at the final degree of Libra to Pluto in Aquarius, that humanity will face for the first time. When Mars moves into 1° Scorpio, the energy will peak. This is volatile, potentially triggering conflict, political, and social unrest. Yet if harnessed consciously, it can be the force of deep renewal, profound metamorphosis, and empowerment rather than destruction.
The separating opposition of Mars to Chiron in Aries has already exposed wounds around equality and justice, urging us to take act toward healing. Meanwhile, the square of Venus to Uranus highlights what no longer aligns with our current values or needs, breaking familiar patterns in relationships, creativity, and love so that something new may be born.
This Eclipse occurs at a degree marking the end of the zodiac’s first half—the cycle of Individuation (Aries–Virgo). With Virgo’s conclusion, the personal journey ends, and before we cross into the second half (Libra–Pisces), the realm of interpersonal and collective, there is one final lesson, one last act of preparation.
A ritual closing takes place as the Virgo light is extinguished. Along with it, the light of control, detail, and organization is briefly lost, so that a new light may arise, the light of the “We” (Libra), helping us to cross over carrying only what is pure, true, and authentic.
The Sabian symbol for this degree of the eclipse, “A false call is disregarded, in the interest of immediate service,” implies that by ignoring false voices and callings, and listening only to the voice of your soul, you can move into the next phase with purpose and meaning.
In its shadow expression, there is the danger of being misled by false promises, misinformation, or fear. Attention may be scattered by the urgent rather than the essential. Yet the soul is called to remain anchored in inner guidance, even if false calls sound louder, in the temporary darkness.
Within the alchemical furnace of this Eclipse, false voices, roles, and expectations that do not serve us will be burned away.
This is a moment to stand in discernment, integrity, and devotion to what is authentic. In this way, this passage will not be an ending, but a sacred beginning.
