NEW MOON IN VIRGO✨🌙♍
August 23, 2025
“A New Alchemy of the Ordinary”
Αlthough it’s not an eclipse, it opens the portal of the eclipses, culminating in the Pisces Full Moon on September 7, which will be a Lunar Eclipse.
The August New Moon occurring on August 23, at 8:05 am Greece time, at 00°22’Virgo, is the first of two new moons hosted by this sign, with the second on September 21 forming a Solar Eclipse.
This means the seed we plant in this lunar cycle, and the intention we set, has the power to guide us perhaps more quickly, less linearly, and in a direction we had not anticipated or imagined, becoming part of a greater plan.
And the power of an intention set at 0° Virgo is not to be underestimated. This embryonic degree offers a blank canvas, allowing us to redesign the landscape of a certain area of life.
In a Mutable sign with mercurial energy, analytical mind, critical thinking, and healing abilities, this new lunar cycle is the invitation for a fresh start connected to the practical matters of life: work, resources, finances, health, and well-being.
This is the moment to discern what is worth your time and energy, to detoxify body, mind, and spirit, let go of habits, practices, and perceptions that no longer serve you, and invent new ones. Especially if there are personal planets and points at the early degrees of the Mutable signs, but also in the Earth and Water signs, which can make constructive use of this energy.
For the collective, this influence may signal new health and work protocols, and usher in new systems in education, commerce, and communication.
Virgo’s energy provides insights and helps us separate the essential from the unnecessary, tending to the parts of life that need renewal, improvement, and organization.
However, vision alone is not enough here; we must act on it and commit to systematic and disciplined effort.
The Virgo archetype demands devotion, discipline, and consistency, and it possesses the practical wisdom to focus on details, ensuring that things function properly and the best possible outcome can be achieved and sustained.
What must be avoided though, are the shadow expressions of this energy, criticism, fault-finding, and dwelling on mistakes, deficiencies, and failures, which may arise and sabotage a positive outcome.
Even more so when the New Moon is under strong pressure from outer planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto), as is the case here, forming an energetically charged and complex landscape.
Specifically, the Yod formation, the Finger of God, is activated , with the Sun and Moon at its apex and quincunxes to Pluto in Aquarius and Saturn–Neptune in Aries. Combined with the square from Uranus to the New Moon, these act as a catalyst demanding a sudden course adjustment.
A Finger of God does not indicate the easy road, but the Necessary one, aligned with destiny, passing through sacrifices and trials. The one bringing power, not safely, but through exposure and “crucifixion.”
The quincunx to Pluto activates a process of inner rebirth, deep psychological or even social transformations, showing personally what must be released, which fears need confronting for liberation, and what old structures that no longer serve your growth and truth must die or transform.
On the other hand, the quincunx to Saturn and Neptune in Aries shows the tension between what you desire and what must be done, or role confusion, such as whether you are called to serve or to lead.
It can also be the reason for a lack of clear direction, a test of faith, or even a karmic challenge, sometimes experienced as paralysis, requiring patience, discipline, alignment with an ideal, and spiritual recalibration.
At the same time, the square of the New Moon to Uranus in Gemini foreshadows upheavals—geophysical and political—as well as communication and technological shocks.
On a personal level, this can be a dance with the unpredictable, where a revelation or unexpected event overturns your plans, not to destabilize you but to awaken you and open new paths.
Therefore, wherever Uranus moves in your chart, do not ignore the call to see and act differently, and express your authentic self to take the required leap.
The semi-square of Jupiter to Uranus, exact the very next day on August 24—the first of their synodic cycle that began in April 2024 at 21° Taurus—reflects the need for change and new experiences.
These may find us unprepared, aiming to shift our perspective, position, and liberate us from previous limitations. They call us to adapt, invite proactive experimentation, and cast us into uncharted water, to evolve us.
The tight square of Venus at 27° Cancer with Chiron in Aries, affecting mainly the last degrees of the Cardinal signs, suggests that the wound concerning relationships, values, and self-esteem is now open.
A condition that intensifies inner insecurity and emotional deadlocks, yet may also work therapeutically through love, acceptance, and the willingness to expose a wound and share what truly hurts.
Despite the challenges, the harmony of mind and will is present in this New Moon, as Mercury at 12° Leo is in a separating sextile with Mars in Libra, offering courage, initiative, and diplomatic action—especially for the second decans of Fire and Air.
Meanwhile, decisions that have already been made may now be entering their maturation phase.
What truly changes the rules of the game for this New Moon is the golden light it receives from the Royal Star Regulus, with which it forms a conjunction. A star that grants success, recognition, wealth, and leadership ability, accompanied by the warning that arrogance and lack of self-knowledge can lead to downfall.
Thus, the stake here is to lead with respect, integrity, and generosity of heart. To use influence to honor and serve something greater. To correct, to heal, and regenerate.
The Sabian symbol of the New Moon, “A man’s head,” sets the tone.
A symbol that archetypically represents strength, confidence, responsibility, and the decisiveness of the Masculine Principle, becomes the example for acting with reliability, conscience, and accountability.
There is an invitation to defend what needs protection, to discern opportunities, and manifest values and ideals, not out of obligation but through conscious choice and reverence for life.
On a personal level, the New Moon calls you to face with courage your challenges, with inner integrity and consistency—even when life tests you.
It is time to take responsibility for your choices. Do not fear confronting your shadows; acknowledge them, transform them, and reclaim your power.
Under the growing light of this Moon, observe the details of your life without haste. Accept mistakes. Envision the changes you wish to manifest and allow your conscience to guide you.
Act with Courage. With Truth. With Light. With Responsibility.
Every fear, every doubt, every limitation can now dissolve under the radiance of your emerging power.
In two weeks, the New Moon will culminate in the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces.
What now seems like a small act, a minor gesture of care, has the potential to become part of a boundless sea, with far-reaching impact.
A blessed New Moon to all!✨🌙🕊☮
With love💓💓💓
